So my monitor was ruined this past 2 weeks after my mother inlaw set it between 2 big speakers....
i logged off yesturday to head out for christmas... the monitor was bad as ever..
I came back today and turned the comp on... monitor is perfect... I have never seen this happen,,, ussually im my experiences the colors are bad for years...but mine is perfect... crystal clear color and picture... i dont get it...
am i missing something..
do they ussually fix themselves?I am stumped but so releaved.. its a nice monitor..19 NEC

doesn't degause take care of that?
I always thought it removed the accumulated magnetism within the crt... maybe the speaker's magnetic feild effects something else?

degauss does help.. but i didnt even do that..
when i left it was a rainbow of bad colors.. came back.. it was perfect.

similar thing happened to me... my 17" mitsu (blue g3 apple monitor) went all wacky on me. i started using another for a while and then brought the blue one into the apple store to be fixed. it turned on just fine and looked great. i brought it home and worked fine there too. turns out all it needed was a little rest.
to this day i can't leave it on without it sleeping for longer than a day. it must be old and needs its rest. i let it sleep while i'm at work, and while i sleep. it works fine otherwise.
sidenote- i run it with a second monitor... so there might be something to the magnetic pull from another device that does something screwy. (but as long as it gets some rest, it runs fine next to my 15"Sony)
