Gah!
I HATE TKMAXX!
It's just like a giant jumble sale. It's the domain of bargain hunting ladies i thought... (which may not be a bad thing of course...)

spacehedgeho, that's the reason why TK Maxx is great, you never know what you might find and it's gonna be cheaper as well

TKMAXX=tack/shit/jumble
- licked0
how can TK Maxx = tack/shit/jumble, when they are selling designer goods like DKNY, Armani, Boss etc.?
- dstlb0
because the clothes they sell are the ones that wouldn't sell in proper shops cos they looked shit? just because they're designer labels doesn't mean they're good.

eighties sweaters at half price. fucking bargain.

The ones they sell are the ones that didn't pass the quality test for the "proper" shops. They've all got something wrong with them - squint prints, one sleeve longer than the other, two neck holes.
- Biofreak0
right, well they had some great cooking oils a while back that i bought.
not a damned thing wrong with them.
as for the clothes, most of them are firesale. so they may smell a bit like smoke, but they wont be damaged. i dont care about designer labels. but they have cheap sock hats and nice candles, so kiss my granny bargainhunting ass.... muthafukahs. haha.

It's all bankrupt stock from other shops...
Admittedly, there's a lot of shite, but i can't complain when i bought a pair of £70 trainers for £30......

KEEP THE TKMAXX DREAM ALIVE......
Come the revolution, it'll be the only shop left open...

hahahaha
i've worked for the tjx company for years, it got me through high school and now it's getting me through college.
they don't sell just irregulars {which are usually just a wrong color thread somewhere that you won't notice, or something like that}
they actually have a pretty strong buying power, i don't what it's comparable to in the UK but in the states they buy larger numbers of items than a store like marshall fields or macy's might, so they get the same stuff only cheaper. they also purchase the over run stuff, like if a brand makes more than gets ordered which is from the same lot as the expensive shit sold in the department stores.
i hate digging through the crap, but that's pretty much their merchandising philosophy - get as much out as possible and people will buy it. we have customers that come in every other day so they catch shit ... a little extreme, but from working there i've gotten coach bags for 80 dollars US, guccie, prada ... all the same quality as the department stores and shops.
it's pretty much what you'll deal with to save money.

Is that why you only get them in crappy retail parks in the scummy areas of town? The revolution won't reach out that for/dare to go there?

In the US (where I live anyway) its TJ Max, and much of the time its trash central, however there is an occasional find
last summer i bought a pretty tite pair of old skool pumas for $20!
- Biofreak0
where i went to design school, there was a nice TJ Max right by the mall and close to campus. it was clean and frequented by all sorts of people from lower to upper middle class folks.
when the revolution comes, TJ and me will be on the front lines... gatts in hand.

Nothing will escape the revolution....
Trailer parks are the near the top of the list
