I second that. I too am a southerner who cannot stomach Lott and I know lots of other southerners who feel the same...some older folks too.
My grandparents (Kentucky) were life long democrats and though they weren't perfect, they never supported bigots or hatred of any kind...and most of their friends were the same way...so, all that to say that I do not believe that most southerners are a bunch of cross-burning rednecks.

Its good to know the good guys, like you all, are out there. I've heard of 'southern hospitality'. Sounds like that's it.
