need help

I have. Its really straight-forward, if they have DVI inputs they behave just like a computer display.

what about pixel pitch?
i tested one thing on plasma and everthing seems to stretch

I don't know kind of display you're working with but you need one with a DVI input, which will give you access to control the variable aperture grille.

I think they might have square pixels instead of rectangle(like computer monitors)

There are a couple varieties of base pixel matrices for plasma displays.

i did a test on 42 inch but everything seems to stretch
i think i used DVIbut the actually size that i am using will be 60
and i dont have a test machine to do it in....- 42's for some reason typically have rectangular pixels. But the 60" may be fine.ETM

It depends on the picture mode setting on the TV.
There's usually a switch on the remote where you can set the TV for fullscreen, wide, wide zoom, etc. This changes the proportions used for the display. If you fiddle with that, you should get something that's portraying your image correctly, or near enough.
So fiddle with that.

Did the plasma make everything short and fat, or long and hard, or nice and smooth?

What resolution are you designing for and what is the native resolution of the plasma? 42" plasma are a unique and PITA lot. Cheap ones can have a native resolution of 1024x768 but accomplish the 16x9 with stretched pixels. Better ones typically have a resolution of 1366 x 768. Only a good 1080p plasma set will have a proper 1920x1080 screen. If the final presentation will be on the 60", I would focus on that and not waste time on the 42". I would assume a 60" would be a true 1080i/p screen and will have a proper 1920x1080 panel.
