  It depends on the picture mode setting on the TV.

  There's usually a switch on the remote where you can set the TV for fullscreen, wide, wide zoom, etc. This changes the proportions used for the display. If you fiddle with that, you should get something that's portraying your image correctly, or near enough.

  So fiddle with that.
