Hey All,
Anyone use one of these (or any other name brand)? Any reviews or rants? I'm thinking of getting one but not sure. What's a good size to get for design work?
Thanks

So what's the bottom line regarding the graphire vs intuos? Is spending twice as much for the intuos worth it?

I've got a Wacom Graphire - smallest size - not sure the dimensions.
By far the best purchase I've made in a long while. Great for artwork and for general computer use as well.
After a week of solid use, I switched back to my mouse for a comparitive test. It was so rigid. Very uncomfortable.
It didn't take long to become comfortable with the pen, a matter of hours really.
I highly recommend a tablet.

i write/paint with my left hand, but always used the right one for mouse control.. so things are messed up! :)
wrong hand on the pointer .. wrong hand on the hot keys ...
argh
i stick with my mouse :(

I've got a wacom intuos at home and i wouldn't be without it. for one its just a good replacement for the mouse. second the pressure pad of the tablet is great for photoshop, flash and any prog you like.
mines an A6 size and i wouldn't go any lower, its just too small. if pos get one A4(lots cash and desk place needed though!)
its a lot easier to use a pen!!
get one!

fredrik.. it should work well for you... just put the keyboard off to the right of the Wacom, so the hot keys are in the right place, and get a replacement 'lefty' cursor (there's patches for that)
Wacoms mouse is angled, and the angle can be flipped to either side

I've even started playing a few games with my a5 intuos - ok, quake isn't too suitable - but anything else seems to work a treat. i find them particularily useful for doing cuts'n'curves in Photoshop... it really saves time.

I bought a 12x12 serial about three years ago and recently had it converted to usb through Wacom. Just picked up A TiBook and the screen/tablet aspect ratio is just too out of sync. Still have it hooked up to my trusty old beige G3.
The only thing these larger tablets need are some kind of modifier buttons that you can activate with your thumb when you are holding the tablet. Could some one whip up a three button, usb, programable keypad out from the same material as those spillproof keyboards?
Get back to me when you have it made up..
G.
