its obvious that the masses are not intelligent, as family guy never has a consistent time slot. is the show even in production still...i've been watching reruns, and godamn, im a simpsons fan, but the last two years family guy put the simpsons on its ass, family feels like i hired friends with the darkest humour to make a show of jokes only i get. its such a gem.

Family guy is very nice, but I still prefer The Simpsons...

family guy is a convulted mess where the worst possible interpretation is shoehorned into what are supposed to be normal everyday situations.
the formula tired quickly.

home videos. now that was a funny show.

They still show the show here in the UK -- but they are seriously edited. I've seen most of the american versions - and they cut out A LOT of stuff here in the UK....

Family Guy is pretty funny most of the time. I can't stand the musical numbers though. I change the chanel when they break out into song and dance. It's dumb. Home Movies is pretty funny too. But I liked when the artwork was shakey. That was their style. now it looks very generic. And that FLCL thing is amazing.

the reason you dont like FG is because is too rough for you. is ok it happens.
but i agree some musical numbers are just uncalled for.
the "cant touch this' being the most painful one.
and kpl, lets see your primetime sitcom pilot, you bash with such might, your work has to be genious

asshole critic mode
clearly I have spoke the truth, as I touched a raw nerve which caused infantiles to fling mud at my name.
/asshole critic modefamily guy is funny at first, then I grew tired of it after I got sick of jokes that were more outrageous than funny. Probably why I got sick of South Park as well.
btw, are you going to start looking in my portfolio to tell me how badly my web designs suck now as well? sheez, this "if you criticize it, why can't you do better?" mentality is so disingeneous... it's like you can't defend your own opinions so you grab this line like a crutch...as if roger ebert is a total bafoon cos he never made a movie.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Take that you tuff guy!
I have never seen the show but am looking forward to downloading a few eps. Might even ponder the idea of buying these things.
Having never watched it, I can't say if it is better then the Simpsons thing. Although I doubt it. The Simpsons do what everyone else is TRYING to do. And they do it correctly.
The dark humor thing can get a bit out of hand if not handled with care. It is a gift, not just something most of you are. Share it with the right people and you will be able to understand each other on another level.
What's up with one of you kats posting an ftp or something. Share these beauties with the world. Disclaim it with saying that the list provided are a back up for your personal use. No on will tell.
And I agree with you Mr. "kpl". Their is nothing like a raw crit from a poor designer. Hell, their is nothing like a bad crit from Ebert. What the hell does he know? He's just some old guy with trendy glasses!
"You aint so pretty no more!"
We are all so opinionated and yet so afraid of others opinions. I guess if you can't tell your clients the truth... you must take out your frustrations on your fellow community.
fresh!

I have no problem with your opinion kpl. But Roger Ebert did write some films. He didn't direct them though. And they were bashed...but are now cult classics.

yeah, actually I knew about the valley of the dolls thing he did. but he came to mind because he's the one that made the point that you don't need to be a filmmaker to make valid critiques of films.
- dopepope0
Agreed. To everyone their opinions.

Family Guy relies way too much on shock value, juvenile humour and has too much filler. Some of the characters are too stupid and lack any depth.
Some of the more story driven episodes are pretty good and funny, but most episodes are a waste of time with too many long reference sequences.

I like Family Guy a lot. I realized a couple of years ago that they because a little dark and bitter. I hope they changed.

You have to wait for a shit ton of crap for funny moments in Family Guy, but I particularly like the interaction between the dog and the baby. American Dad is better in my opinion, but at the time of the OP it didn't exist.
By the way, has anyone else noticed how many adults watch cartoons targeted specifically for them, as opposed to say 20 years ago when the only adults watching cartoons were "stoners"?

Dog is the only good character.
