You know when satan is behind the trash dumpster at that restaurant, and gives that guy a heart attack? That brought back some childhood fear of mine : taking the trash out to the dumpster at night. Ever since that scene I get chills taking out the trash at night. . .once again. Props to Lynch for playing on what is I'm sure a lot of people's fear.

still have to see that movie, sounds great...

A cleverly disguised Satire about Hollywood ... plain and simple.
- clint0
i've seen all his other films, think he is great, he has got a pay site or something going on,
never checked it out, any good?
- evil_pupil0
yeah the site is kinda weak. I keep mailing mister lynch and offer my service for a good ol dark website :)

simple, one of the main plots in this movie is about a female actress and a young woman. both of them have an affair, but the blonde woman is kind of crazy and very jealous. no wonder the other woman is kind of cruel when it comes to feelings. the "crazy" woman hires a killer to kill the actress. after that she kills herself in her bed. the killer meanwhile fails to kill the actress, instead the actress get amnesia and meets antoher young woman. remember how both of them find the dead woman in the apartment?
the trick is: part 2 of the story is showed first, after that lynch shows you what happened before. to make this even more confusing he's using the same actors for different characters.
i figured that out after i had seen this movie the very first time.

that's all good and all...but just one thing.
IT'S THE STUPIDEST THING I EVER HEARD.
- smek20
what do you mean?
my explanation of the movie?
or the moviem itself?
just watch the movie, its simple.
- CAJTBr0
yeah it's simple alright, smek. but as you say, that's just one small part of the plot.
'this is the girl'

this movie is good if you're between 18-53,l but having said that, i didn't like it because i thought it was lynch stairizing lynch satirizing hollywood. it's the opposite of straight story. Lynch is truly a master.

this has to be the worst movie i've ever seen.
i watched the special features where they interview david lynch, and he just babbles on and talks absolute shite!
he doesnt even know what the movie is about ;)
- quamb0
i love watching david lynch interviews and the like.
he is such an intruiging character himself.
I swear david lynch IS agent cooper
- corin0
I don't like david lynch, he just seems to make the same movie over and over again...
that said i did like the elephant man, i thought that was well cleverer than all the other stuff, and dennis hopper was hilarious in blue velvet... well now i don't sound like i don't like david lynch at all...hmmm...
ok, i don't like mulholland drive
- quik0
it was a shit movie with b grade loser actors :)
- InVivio0
Good Movie. Good acting. Refreshing approach to storyteling through the subconscious of a character, and the ensuing murder, guilt, and suicide from the reality of someone's actions.

"it was a shit movie with b grade loser actors :)"
nice one quick.
I suppose everything you don't like is "shit" then eh?

watch it again, look for clues, light, sound, etc.
His characters are usually as memorable as their lines.
"You wouldn't believe what that kangaroo did to this courtyard"
Is it me, or does he employ some deliberate and stereotypically bad acting to create tension in this movie?
I'm thinking about the taxi scene with Betty and the old people. It's clear she can act and that he can direct her. Something very unsettling about it as a technique.
About the only movie of his I'm not really into is Dune, some will disagree, but most Lynch fans know why.
