hm.
i'm not a print dude to ask but i know something about sales. and it will probably be easier to pitch a publisher with a non-finsished looking book.
40 pages at 14 (inches?) by 14 can be made to look handsome with a bit of DIY spirit. it would also be easier on a limited budget.
maybe you have or somebody knows, but it's worth asking a publisher how best to pitch them ideas... you know?
