hey paddywop
BBC Broadcast isn't part of the BBC anymore, so i don't know whether the interviews operate in the same way.
usually for bbc jobs it's quite a detailed interview process - they have at least 3 people in on the interview taking notes, 1 of which is a HR person to make sure the interview follows "policy".
basically they have to tick lots of boxes and fill in lots of forms and it works to a points system so that if you call back afterwards to ask why you did/didn't get the job they can tell you exactly why.
so when they ask you specific questions, make sure you answer the question! sounds obvious but lots of people don't.
it's a creative position, so of course dress as scruffily as possible (*pinch of salt here)! if you wear a suit they won't think you're a creative! but this is true of any creative job in london, isn't it?
a good tip is to try to turn the interview around so that you are interviewing them, so have questions for them in mind when you go in. read industry related press to make sure you're up on current issues.
be yourself, be relaxed, be charming, don't go on and on, just say the relevant things but don't be afraid to have a personality, as long as you don't come across as a wanker i'm sure you'll be fine.
n.b. i'm no "official bbc spokesperson" by any means.
