i think it's similar to what is considered Swiss design in that it's a bit rigid or heavily dependant on Grids.
What exactly defines German design? It's hard to say. It also might be easier to gauge on what period if we knew what the overall concept behind your design is, or what the brief calls for.
German Design might be most known for high contrast (Primary red, black) use of Bauhaus and similar fonts, stark images and/or shapes.
Old German advertising posters are really cool tho... they have a light propaganda feel, use friendly illustrations, etc.
