paul - you are probably oen of the most bitter indie snobs I've ever met.

Amelie was a ridiculously drawn out. Just more childish foolery.
    Oooohh!!! But it's FRENCH!!!
That means it instantly has cred because it's foreign. Oooo. Everything is so strange and forgeign in this crazy France-land.

    You see?
Any decent movie and be stripped down to bitter nitpicking and whining.

LOTR so far is probably the most finely crafted 9 hour epic fantasy in existance - and could possibly be the finest in long-standing history.

The amount of love and care that went into this movie is just amazing, incredible, spectacular.

It's the type of movie that makes me un-bitter, one that makes me believe that that child-like excitement I got from seeing Star Wars so long ago is still possible.

Not to mention - it completely takes you out of this world and puts you in another - one where you know for sure that Good will win in the end.

    Best movie experience ever.
