    The US and it's allies in Gulf 1 mad a wise choice NOT to kill Saddam then. It would have been worse. It became a duck shoot and too many Iraqi lives (soldiers) were being slaughtered. It would not have looked good.

    I do want to attempt at placing some of this de-placed emphasis off of the civilian casualty loss. Please understand that the US had ZERO intent on casualty loss. Here are some MAJOR percautions we are taking that NOBODY else has ever taken in a war:

    Our tanks roll with flood lights ON giving the Iraqi troops an advantage at seeing us coming to option their right to surrender.

    During the Shock & Awe campaign we left the power on, telephone lines on, and water on allowing the civilians to communicate and show that this is a force against their regime and not them.

    We continue to poor BILLIONS of dollars into our technology to specify it's target as much as possible. Of course mistakes happen. We are human but we are doing our best to keep the casualty count to a min.
