Go for a Kona...great price point and a really well built rig.I owned a Stinky for 2 years. Similar to the Orange, but a better pedaling platform because of the 4-bar linkage.
YEah, the Santa Cruz' are spendy...I got my Bullit barely used on mtbr.com at 1/2 retail.
