like, with my clients, i design sites and offer them CMS systems to update their own shit. they can get FTP access if they want, but 90% of my clients dont want to deal with that "technical" stuff...
some of my clients are more tech savvy, and want to upload jps and txt files via FTP.. which is cool too...
in your situation, YOU are the content creator and designer... so its time for your relationship with this company to change as you have matured in your skill level, with the ability to update sites now, using dreamweaver or whatever, and then uploading via FTP.
i think the comapny you are dealing with has no way to deal with the changing times, and grow with you...
