Derek2005 - I don't know any of the costs of anything, but from my point of view as a simple designer, it seems that it should be simple to provide secure FTP to our site. I expect when the contract runs out we would want to change, but they have a lock in on the software needed for the CMS which is prohibitive (ie pricey) to unlock for someone else to be our web dev company. They do really stress us out and waste our time, there seems a real lack of goodwill, and they bizarrely seem to be shooting themselves in the foot.

Trevedda - What you're saying is key, cos everything they say about security is then qualified by the fact I could break the look and feel, and that it's a retrograde step to Dreamweaver a page rather than use the CMS... It's extremely arrogant as it's really up to us to decide if we feel we're able to edit a page ourselves without their holding hand.
