it is xp with some "enhancement." enhancement that *other* systems have been using already.
other than the iconfactory icons...looks like a poorly designed xp rehash.
the important part of longhorn is/was the backend technology...which has been hacked-n-slashed so much now that it's not really that impressive.
some gems here and there, though. like i said...transactional ntfs will help problems with server crashes during GB data moves between servers.
we push TB's of data weekly here, and when one of the xp workstations crashed during a move it corrupts data everytime. seems like trans. ntfs might ease that suffering a bit, from what i've read anyway.
but, that's a tiny piece in a much larger system...which by all accounts still seems like crap.
