I dont know if it's still around, but Wendy's advertising took a turn for the worst a few years back. They had run a special (artificial holiday) ad campaign which revolved around the true story of a freak-show styled chicken named Mike. Apparently back in the 50's someone beheaded a chicken which didn't kill it... the chicken was still alive although headless due to a bit of brainstem that was left in it's neck. Rather than put it out of it's misery, the owner kept it alive, feeding it nutrients and water with a small eye-dropper. The man brought his prized possession to statefairs to show it off before it finally died about a year and a half later.

Not only did Wendy's show pretty poor taste in advertising with their campaign, but they also showed thier contempt and lack of concern for life, wether it be the animal on the bun or the one they sell their food to.
