a more likely scenario is apple migrates osx/darwin closer to linux (than unix) and adobe begins writing software that works on linux and windows.
linux gains market share daily. governments, schools, businesses, etc., are all migrating. mac/osx is becoming exclusively niche again.
outside of a couple designers (and this forum) i don't know anyone using mac. our entire organization runs on pc. it is cheap and easy for us to convert pc's from windows to linux.
adobe realizes this and probably wants to tap the linux market.
pretty simple to me. you can spend half the cost on hardware. get the same if not better performance and stability with linux than with osx. businesses will fall in line to save on toc.
apple needs to lower its prices and open it's development up in order to compete. they also need to suck it up and migrate osx over to a completely unix based kernel. no more of this stupid hybrid shit.
there is no reason for 3 major os's in the market. and windows isn't going anywhere. linux is gaining ground daily...i believe it is already past osx on usage statistics.
