if a product becomes a standard because its the best product - that's the good thing
if a product becomes a standard because the company that produces it has destroyed competition that's a bad thing
buying up potential competitors is destroying competition.
you shouldn't let your political beliefs cloud your judgement.
and all because i said "freemarket system is corrupt".
