I don't think its so much the culling or their cuteness as much as it is the age and fashion in which they are killed. Sure it helps that they are little seals with big glossy black eyes. But killing over a quarter million seals in 1mo with clubs and rifles of which 95% of the killed seals are under the age of 3 mo is a little fucked up no matter why is being done. Then comes the biggest argument that the reason this tradition was justified in the first place isn't the truth anymore. They started this hunt because the cod population were dropping off, so they assumed 'cod dropping in numbers..seals eat cod..kill millions of seals with clubs'. When in all actuallity it was more like 'cod dropping in numbers..were fishing the shit out of the cod irresponsibly..lets eat some grass instead'. Now remind me why this culling, raping, slaughter whatever the fuck you want to call it...is a valid idea anymore.
