Don't believe the hype. I moved to SF two years ago and have loved every day of it. I love right in mid-haight area. It's fun as shit and sunny every day. You can do it if you try. The people that bitch about it and move away do so because of bad personal experiences. It's still a city of 800,000 for a reason.
