    ok,
    here is what you do.

find a track or portion of a musical
track that you like. something that
has a memorable open, a strong middle,
    and a definate close.

It should be no more than 2 minutes.

make sure the track is sick,
and if its not, keep looking.

consider a track possibly that is
maybe an older song, from a different
era, that will contrast with your work
    in a good way.

if you have alot of different work,
only pick the best, most unique work.

consider including your own personal work
    or experiemnts in the edit.

Get yourself a good editor, or if you are gonna edit it
yourself, get a few opinions before you make
    it public.

consider creating a design or series of designs
specifically for the reel ... an open and a close
and possibly an I.D. that appears somewhere in the edit. these should be awesome and clever and memorable.
you are branding yourself and your skills after all.

lastly, think of a unique packaging design, if its gonna be on VHS, that it be really tricked out and eye catching.

VHS tapes and cases are made in all different colors
and opacitys and with the right sticker design can look super professional.

    have fun with it.
don't be afraid to take risks
    and do something funny with
    sound bites or strange images
that are there for no other reason
    except to make people smile.

a smile goes a long way.

    hope this helped,
    Fatty
