  from memory- set the vid data rate no more then around 7.6.

  if your data rate is too high,
  a) your movie may not fit onto your selected DVD disc.
  b) cheaper dvd players will not be able to handle such speed.

  also check your sound is 48khz not 44khz if using using dolby compression
