our tutors are excellent, but fine art is painting, printmaking, 3D sculpture/installation and photography at our uni. If I wanted new media in depth i would have had to do a degree in new media. But uni's for this are far from where i live. i am a mature student so i choose to travel daily, only 35 mins.
The photography tutor is fine with computer art, a photoshop whizz.
But finding out for yourself is fun, its only my dissertation, most of my other art is painting and etching/aquatinting.
Sarah Lucas private view was great this evening. The exhibition was about British culture...........Pubs and smoking...........and how it kills ya.............mortality.
there was a small pub in the exhibition and the gallery curator was serving beer to the visitors. there was also a wall of full gin bottles with optics, and you were encouraged to help yourself.
no one bothered to question "is it art".........a great party ensued !! lol.
i also got to speak with tracy emin
