A key part of what Kev does and what I used to is the fact that scaling the images down will mean a lot of the time important copy will become unreadable which is part of the work as much as the graphical side.
I would perhaps consider making the left hand side narrower and the right wider in order to accommodate the full pics. I don't really think an iFrame will do anything special in this case other than keep a consistent height. Look into an overflow instead and load it in as I mentioned earlier.
