Thanks all for the input.
A funny thing happened at the Apple store today. Went in still trying to decide what to buy. The more I thought about it, portability became less and less of an issue. Would be nice but not a must. And the small screen size was bugging me with all of the palatte room. So I started looking at the new iMacs. In particular, the 17" 1.8 Ghz / SuperDrive / w/ Airport and Bluetooth built in / wireless keyboard and mouse. Retails for $1700. I ask the guy helping me if they had an open boxes on this model. He said no but funny I should ask. He just got off the phone with a buddy of his who brought that exact model from him 4 months ago and was wanting to part with it.
He had added an additional 512 of RAM. A much needed upgrade.
I call the guy. He wanted $1200 for it. SOLD!
Thing has only been used a handful of times. He brought it for his wife to surf the net and such but they ended like figuring out they like PC's better.
Lucky for me. Crazy timing but damn how it worked out.
Thanks again. I've got a new Mac again and ready to go.
