Pick your own target audience... doesnt matter who it is. Then design for that....
When i interview designers many times they will say: this was a concept to target xyz. I chose this direction because abc. yada yada yada... bottom line, i look for whether they achieved the goal they set out and if it was viable or not for that demographic...
it will make it much easier that way... you can't be everything to everyone.
