    i would have thought that once the thing is outlined it's no longer a font, therefore not a concern.

    the copyright of fonts is for the name, mainly, and the included leading and kerning tables maybe. this is why you see nasty knockoffs in clipart sets called - futurica and tomes (rather than futura andd times obviously).

    if you wanted to you could download a pdf or jpeg example of the font from the foundry showcase and trace the letters you want for a logo. you'd never actually use the font itself and therefore it's not ever an issue.

    companies can't copyright letterforms as the alphabet is kinda public domain.
