In 1995 I got LUCKY and got my frist job as an HTML bitch for a company here in SoCal. It paid 37k a year. As time has gone by, my pay has gone up and up. My next job was at 45k. The next job I got was 67k and it was after I lied about my skills and got in as a senior designer for a major company. The next one was 76k and then the Dot com meltdown happened and people started losing jobs like flies.. Now between 2A and Freelancing for close friends and family projects I like Jking make a "Shit Ton" but it isn't about that. I got where I am because I worked my ass off, didn't get much sleep, and burned the candle at both ends for a couple of years learning all I can. Crap..I still do that. I could lose my job tomorrow just like anyone else. Like someone else said..there are TONS of monster talents out there right now that dont have jobs. Most I know are OVER qualified and the smaller companies do not want to hire them because they are afraid they will leave when something better comes along. Count your blessings is my best advice and always look over your shoulder. Never get comfortable.
