there was a semi interesting series of novels called 'chung kuo' the middle kingdom, by dave wingrove....it was about china being the only superpower left in teh world, and basically running the show...
it was pretty good sci-fi, if a bit bizzare...and there was a bit of 'this is the scary future with chinese running everything' sorta thing..
i think, historically, china has been all about keeping to themselves, ...the middle kingdom is more than just a name..its a reality in many ways...inside china is the world..
outside the borders is nothing but foreign devils.
i can't honestly imagine a future where that would change...
what..suddenly china cares about norway?...or what happens in Utah?
nah...
if anything i expect that they'll basically keep on keeping on...
or if nothing else, they'll become what the ussr was..
a counterpoint to US hegemony.sooooo..
expect the future to hold more movies like 'red dawn' except instead of 'scary russians' it'll be 'scary chinese'.....what it comes down to is the US suddenly seeing someone that they can't really push around.
soooo...
make a scary bad guy of them...
