From the Apple Suport site:
You CANNOT install Panther with these disks. If these are DVDs you have a set of hardware specific software install & restore DVDs. You cannot install from them on any other computer model but the one they shipped with since they simply lack the hardware drivers for other machines. You have to buy the retail full install CDs.
Sounds like you might be screwed unless you know someone with the full retail CDs....
