i would avoid overtly dirty sex jokes (too many have been told already) as well as politics (too hit and miss, depending on your crowd it could give hecklers a field day)...do you play the guitar or some other sort of small portable instrument?...if so you could do a sort of minstrel storytelling act...that way if you fuck up or something you could at least have the sound of the instrument taking up the dead air...ever see http://www.zachgalifianakis.com/… or dana carvey's piano / guitar bits?
