it would be foolish not to get a patent first and then approach a manufactorer?

arrange a meeting with to company you choose and before showing then anything, they have to sign a contract saying that they will not use your idea in anyway or give it to others..if they like your idea, they can buy your idea for an onetime amount and pay for the patent etc. you will get 5-10% royalties for the sale or what ever you agree too..
that's how the furniture world works more or less.. so don't expect 50% of the sales and $1.000.000 for your idea. just because it's good..
