    blastofv, yeah that is what i was getting at. i mean i was born in the late 70's, but i practically grew up with a penicil in my hand doodling and sketching. I studied architecture in my undergrad, so the ability to draw and sketch is very important to me and to the discipline, even to this day. but sadly more and more students that enter architecture have opted for the computer when designing claiming its faster to design and produce these trendy 3d images. which is true but about 95 percent of those designs lack any concept or ideas. they have no idea of proportion, scale, etc. Sketching allows you to really understand how to develop a sense of process. But i guess this type of sketching is different then the sketching you would do maybe for logos or web design.. in any event freehand sketching will always win me over,
