Nitpicking a little, but the Radeon 9700 AIW isn't dual head. You give up some head (heh) for the TV tuner.

Keeping the same price, you could swap it out for a standard 9700 and then buy a $90 TV tuner card from Hauppage.

I'd also take advantage of the onboard SCSI raid feature of the DP-533. Lose the ATA raid, you don't want to risk critical data in a raid-0 setup. I'd throw in 2X15k rpm 18gig scsi drives in a raid-0 as my boot/work array, and a big ATA drive for backup, etc. You could make up the cost difference by trimming the fat in a few other areas. That's the nice thing about building a PC on your own.

Manufacturer claims about warranty, reliability, etc. are pretty much FUD. Last I knew, Apple (for example), had a 1-year/90 day warranty on their top-end LCD monitors. That blows for a $2000 monitor. Unfortunately, reducing effective warranty lengths is a cost-cutting measure common to the "pc" industry, as the hardwar is pretty commoditized at this point.

In short, if you could get OSX for PC hardware, or Adobe+Macromedia+Lightwave would run on Linux, it'd be a perfect world.

    At least for me :)
