Okay, reviving this thread:
To Donvito, your quotation of John was good. However the first scripture you quoted "I and the Father are one" is missing something. The context. See the context shows that Jesus and God are working in one accord.
To nownotyet: Jesus did come down to Earth. However the idea that he is God loses ground when he's praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. He's praying to God that he "take this cup from him". The cup being the act of him being nailed on a torture stake. So if Jesus is God, who was he praying to in the Garden? If he's God, wouldn't that mean that he was praying to himself to take the cup away from himself?
