but, for me that's the thing i *don't* want my notebook to compare to a desktop. the purpose of a notebook is portability. sure, you want some power behind the machine so you can get work done, but if i wanted a desktop...i'd buy a desktop and sit at home and do my work.
i refuse to buy a notebook over a certain size. it has to be around an inch thick, light, and it must be sturdy. the vaio's and alienware's have magnesium casing. making them a bit more rigid than others.
i still don't understand the feasibility of a 17" notebook that weighs 6+ lbs. useless.
if you want to show clients work at a better scale, then make the investment in a projector. that will look a bit more professional, imo.
