i hate to inform you but as you have touched it you are indeed going to die.
first the finger that touched it will shrivel up, then long greasy curly hairs will start to sprout from your shoulders and back, then your hair will turn ginger (ALL of your hair), you will start to gnash your teeth and break out uncontrollably singing cliff richard christmas songs, before finally melting into the carpet emitting a hideous smell as you go. sorry.
