if you don't get the movie, it's rather telling about yourself as an individual. It's fairly simple to see the point being illustrated. Two people, one wealthy and one newly wed, both traditional signs of what society views as happiness and contentment, are miserable with their lives. They find happiness in a fleeting weekend of experience that cannot last, but will last forever in their memories.
