Ethically speaking, yes, but it hardly ever works that way.
You could get around the issue by including the cost of the extra font in the job, i.e. if you are going to turn over material for thier in-house use, you purchase a duplicate font (another license) for them. That way you get the font, and so does the client, the founderies get thier money, everyone is giddy...
