the 20D is nice and all but the battery won't last long if your in the cold... and the different chips between the canon and nikon make a big difference.. the canon C-MOS is better for hi-lights... I would have to say that for what U want... neither is good... your hi-lights will completely blow out on the ski hill... witch is problem with digital.. if you go with the nikon U will get haloing around the colors and all the white snow.. that is a problem of the nikon CCD
