    Bit of what _me_ said and the first post too.

    'I've done this, improved in this, helped win this, and I've been here for x. I'd like more money please.' If no then hand in your notice, that usually calls peoples bluff. It's worked for me twice.

    At the end of the day if you feel you should be paid more and they won't pay you more, it's a pretty unworkable position. As often happens people outgrow a company and move on. I've always used the lack of rewarding my performance (if it's been good) as an indicator that I might be ready to move up the ladder. i.e. middle designer to senior designer and so on.
