Cubase and Cakewalk are both audio sequencers that contain effects units and allow you not only to record music but also sequence back music. If you are looking to use it with Reason, then fine, but ultimately, that means you will be exporting out and import into Cubase or Cakewalk. Although there are application such as ReWire than enable you to record in real-time into Cubase.
