Yeah some people feel very stongly that this is hurting the industry but it's not quite a black and white issue.
I used to do tons of flyers, for very cheap, but if I wanted the work and exposure I had no choice in terms of billing them, this is how much they have take it or leave it. There's alot of situations out there like that, to me if the project sounds interesting and will be good for my book then I'm very flexible with rates.
As well I like to do barter jobs where I can trade design for things like printing, furniture, home reno's, etc. I don't think I'm bringing the industry down by doing such.
