i'm an avid woodworker. i've been actively involved in this hobby for about eight years.
for all intents and purposes the knowledge has been gained from books, magazines, etc.
that's the joy of living in this time... 100 years ago you couldn't learn anything about this without dedicating yourself to an apprenticeship. these days there are plenty of publications that can help you.
favorites of mine are the following mags: wood, popular woodworking, woodsmith, fine woodworking.
the best woodworkers of our day are publishes monthly/bi-monthly in these mags.
