  john, depends on exactly what you want to do? Musical sequencing, actualy recording and production, editing, etc.? For Mac's Logic and Pro Tools are good for recording, mixing and editing. For production, let's say on the electronic side, designing synth lines and beats, Propellerheads' Reason is very nice. :)
