Yeah 'coats of arms' have been done, but does it matter?
If the boy has a job where the client wants some down pointing arrows, paint drips or, god forbid, bevel and embossesTM, then it doesnt really matter.
So long as the end user is happy, who cares, its not ideal but sometimes the client wants something shit, and its better for you to give it to them and get paid for it than someone else.
Its about making the best of things, yeah crests/coats of arms have been done loads, but who's to say this guy isnt going to do something different and 'uber-cool'?
