naw, see i love the whole vicorian gothic thing. I used to watch hammer horror films as a kid ALL the time, big time fan. And like every victorian gentleman had a human skull in his study, or even a full skeleton. And its so macabre and creepy, especially the way the hammer horror films used that stuff. And i love it.
There's a shop in SoHo new york, called Natural History in Soho. It's so fuckin cool. I coulda bought half the shit in there. In the end i bought and alligators head. But there were like animal penises, baby (human)skeletons, sharks jaws, lines palms etc... It was so fuckin creepy and like weird seeing that. It's strange how we turn this stuff to ornaments, in a kinda pseudo-scientific curiosity way. But in reality its fuckin creepy.
And thats why i like these pieces, cos it kinda illustrates that point for me. it made me think about that alligators head i have on my bookshelf.
