partially agree.
first of, i hate the word sensationalist, which in itself is also a sensationalist thing to say. it's an opinion. if it happens to be a popular or a policitical correct opinion so be it. everyone is entitled to it.
bonsai kitten was not posted as an equivalent. that's what you make of it.
no one knows knows the details about how the animals are killed exactly. it's been describes as "humanly". that's all. so i wouldn't make any conclusions on that.
coming back to my own opinion, killing animals, humanly or not, for art is something i cannot agree with. yes it's a sensationalist thing to say, then again in this case i'm rather a sensationalist than not. i do happen to like the images but the fact that she actually kills for it, dunno, not my cup of tea. would have been a totally different thing if she would have used already dead animals for it (as stated before).
maybe i made myself not clear in an earlier post. trying to convince the people to be more aware about eating animals by killing animals for art is imo a lost cause. you're trying to convince people who already are convinced. the ones who know her artwork or go to her show are imo more intelligent than the masses who prolly won't give a fuck about it at all and still find it important that a pound of steak is cheap as possible.
now i'm an elitist as well. woo yay! i'm so morally challenged.
